Request: an "unanswered" filter on the Help board

The Help board has seven topics and two of them are solved. The other five are open, and one of those has been open for a week with no reply at all.

I would like a filter, or at least a sort, that separates the questions nobody has answered from the ones that have a conversation. The two kinds of page want different things: an unanswered question is a request for help, and a question with three replies is a discussion.

Right now the only way to find the unanswered ones is to open each one and look, which is exactly the work the board exists to save someone.

What would be useful. A tab next to "Latest" and "Top this month": "Unanswered". A topic appears there when it has no published reply.

What I am not asking for. I do not want the board to show unanswered questions first in the normal list. That would push the discussions — the parts worth reading — down, and it would make the board look emptier than it is. A separate view is the right shape.

A related thought. An unanswered question that is three weeks old is a different thing from one that is three hours old, and the age is already on the page. It would be useful to see the age in the list, or at least to have the unanswered view sorted by age so the oldest unanswered questions are at the top, where someone is most likely to pick them up.

This one we can do without a database change, which is the main reason it is worth doing now: a topic with no published reply is already computable from the reply count we keep.

The view is a filter over the same listing query, so the same code serves "Latest", "Top" and "Unanswered" and the counts stay consistent.

Support the separate view strongly, and one addition: it would help to mark the unanswered ones that have a reply that is still in review.

A question can have a reply that has not been through review yet, and to the reader that is an unanswered question. Counting only published replies means the question looks ignored for the few minutes the review takes.

Sorted by age is what I would want too, and the oldest unanswered question is usually the one that fell through: everybody saw it, nobody had the answer that day, and three weeks later somebody does.

That is the one worth surfacing, because it is the one that would otherwise stay unanswered forever.
